PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a UPS operation system which has high security and makes it easy to operate a UPS, the UPS provided for the system, and a UPS operating method. SOLUTION: The UPS operation system 10 for remotely operating an operation means 50 of the UPS 11 is equipped with a telephone terminal 40 which sends a speech signal to the UPS 11 through a communication path 51 and the UPS 11 which can be connected to a telephone terminal 40 through the communication path 51, and the UPS 11 is equipped with a receiving means 27 which receives the speech signal from the telephone terminal 40 through the communication path 51, a voiceprint authenticating means 31 which compares and matches the speech pattern of the speech signal against previously registered speech patterns, a speech recognizing means 33 which allows vocal instruction input from the telephone terminal 40 when the voiceprint authentication means 31 performs authentication and converts the received speech signal into character data for recognition, and an instruction transmitting means 26 which sends an operation instruction to the operation means 50.
