PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a computer must be shut down and restarted when PS/2 keyboard and mouse are connected to a computer device. SOLUTION: Even if a keyboard, etc., is not connected, a microprocessor pseudo-emulates and guarantees operation of the computer device. Specifically, an interrupt circuit 5 generates an interrupt to the microprocessor 3 when a terminal circuit 4 detects connection of a keyboard or a mouse by a light emitting element and a light accepting element, and the microprocessor executes an interface process which enables to use the keyboard or the mouse when the keyboard or the mouse is connected. When the keyboard or the mouse is not connected, a light emitting element 6 displays it and pseudo-processes when the keyboard or the mouse is disconnected. It is also included that connection is detected by operation of an external switch and by whether a specific key is input or not from a keyboard. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
