PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an LED display which can be inexpensively configured without applying a load to the LED display, can be operated independently of a personal computer as well and is facilitated in convenience, and to provide a character image display device equipped with the LED display which can display dynamic and flexible expressions with the rotation, reduction, expansion, color change and flickering of a character image and a font conversion to another language or the like. SOLUTION: An LED display 11 is configured by a data input part 11a for inputting bit map data corresponding to an attribute code of a color or size to be displayed on an LED display screen and a character code converted on the basis of font data, and a bit map display control part 11b for displaying the bit map from the data input part 11a on the LED display screen.
