PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens barrel for a camera equipped with a sliding means for a distance indicating ring which is of the composition meeting conditions of a low torque, high power transmitting properties, a smooth action and quietness as much as possible. SOLUTION: In the distance indicating ring 20 which indicates a photographing distance by rotating for a manual focus and an auto focus, a small bottomed hole 20a is formed at the positions of three equal parts of the perimetric surface and a small boll 40 is put into each of the small bottomed hole 20a. In the inner perimetric surface of a fixed ring frame 24 which holds the distance indicating ring 20, a ring-like bottomed race 24b into which the small ball 40 is partially put is formed, thus providing the lens barrel for a camera equipped with a sliding means for the distance indicating ring 20 composed of the bottomed small hole 20a, the small ball 40 and the bottomed race 24b.
