PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent misidentification that the liquid level rises though the liquid level is out of contact with an air pipe, because fume sticks to the inside of the air pipe and sticking material grows by long-period operation to block the air pipe. SOLUTION: The mechanism of this liquid level detector is described as follows: the air pipe 5 is connected in the vertical direction to the lower part of a diaphragm-including container 12; a pipe 8 of the air to which a pressure from the initial pressure is supplied through a regulating valve 11 is connected to the air pipe; the liquid level reaches the lower end of the air pipe 5 connected in the vertical direction; the diaphragm 4 is pushed up by pressure rise of the air inside the container; and a microswitch 2 is switched to the ON state. In the detector, a narrowed part 6 is provided on the air pipe connected in the vertical direction, and the middle position between the narrowed part and a lower end opening part 7 of the air pipe 5 connected in the vertical direction to the lower part of the container 12 is connected to a pipe 9 branched from an initial-pressure air pipe 10, for supplying the initial-pressure air, to thereby prevent the fume from penetrating into the inside of the air pipe 5 connected in the vertical direction to the lower part of the container 12.
