PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of preventing stain on the surface of a heat transfer tube which can effectively remove deposit ash on the surface of the heat transfer tube. SOLUTION: [1] In a gas passage in which a heat transfer tube is arranged for recovering exhaust heat from gas discharged from a waste disposal furnace, a powder is blown into the gas passage upstream the heat transfer tube, and the powder with a melting point higher than the gas temperature at the blowing point is used. [2] In [1], the grain range of the powder is 10 to 500μm. [3] In [1] or [2], slag discharged from a gasification melting furnace is used as the powder. [4] In any of [1] through [3], an amount of the powder is adjusted based on the melted salt in fly ash contained in the gas discharged from the waste disposal furnace. [5] In [4], an amount of the powder to be blown is adjusted in the range of 0.1 to 10 times of the amount of melted salt in the fly ash contained in the gas discharged from the waste disposal furnace.
