PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a coating type vibration-damping and soundproofing coating for car bodies using a coating sludge as a main raw material. SOLUTION: The coating sludge rejected in a coating step is coagulated and recovered in a water tank and the resultant recovered coating sludge is simply dried with a drying vessel. The simply dried coating sludge is heated at 0-100°C for 1-30 min and kneaded by stirring with a stirrer at the number of revolutions thereof at 30-240 rpm during heating. The moisture content of the coating sludge is regulated to 10-30 wt.% by kneading, heating and drying. The kneaded coating sludge is then mixed with a performance imparting agent, etc., to produce the coating type vibration-damping and soundproofing coating. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
