The burial vault, designed to be erected in a chamber excavated in the ground, consists of a series of lengthwise (5, 5') and transverse (6, 6') prefabricated concrete-based vertical panels with ends (7, 8) having interlocking surfaces (10) so they lock together when slid vertically. The interlocking ends have sliding guides (11, 11') and projections (12, 12') on the panel ends that fit together when slid vertically, forming a rigid assembly.
