<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it unnecessary to previously install a plurality of management programs corresponding to the whole machine types of equipment to be managed in a computer at the time of managing the network equipment by the computer. <P>SOLUTION: Each network equipment 3A, 3B 3C,... stores a management program for each equipment in an JAVA applet or ActiveX control format. Each of host computers 5A, 5B, 5C,... downloads and executes the management program from arbitrary network equipment by using a Web browser to manage the arbitrary network equipment.
