PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a supplemental seal for substantially minimizing or eliminating leakage loss which passes through a chordal hinge seal. SOLUTION: In a gas turbine, a supplemental seal 60 is provided between a seal surface 54 facing in an axial direction of a nozzle support ring 44 and an annular seal surface 50 formed by circumferentially adjacent nozzle segments 41, the seal surface 54 and the annular seal surface 50 facing to each other in an axial direction. Each segment 41 has an inner rail 52. The chordal hinge seal is assisted by generally bowed V-shaped seals 64, 66 disposed in a space between the seal surfaces, and the space is opened radially inwardly toward a passage of high pressure leakage which passes the chord hinge seal. The supplemental seal 60 is compressed first, and by applying solder 70 to the supplemental seal, it is maintained in the compressed state during the attaching operation. At the temperature of operation of the gas turbine, the solder is melted to release the supplemental seal, thereby sealing a space between the nozzle support ring and the nozzle segments.
