<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a door outside handle device for a vehicle, which can lock a door through simple operation when the user leaves the vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: The door outside handle device for the vehicle houses, in a handle 1, a detecting electrode 2 of an approach sensor or a contact sensor, and an antenna 3 as a transmitter-receiver for communicating with the outside of the vehicle. The device detects that the driver approaches to or makes contact with the vehicle by the approach sensor or the like, and carries out communication between the transmitter-receiver and a portable unit of the driver, to thereby lock/unlock the door. The handle 1 also houses therein a detecting electrode 4a of a capacitance-operated touch sensor 4 for generating a locking signal to the door, by covering the detecting electrode 4a with an outer shell. Further, the outer shell has an operating point indicating mark 5 attached thereto, at a location at which the touch sensor 4 senses contact. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
