摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain excellent light receiving characteristics in an optical semiconductor device by suppressing diffused reflection light in the optical semiconductor device due to incident outside light, and thus preventing diffused reflection light incident to a light-receiving portion of an optical semiconductor element. <P>SOLUTION: The optical semiconductor device is provided with; a substrate 2 whose upper principal plane is formed with a recess 2a, the optical semiconductor element 3 which is disposed on a bottom plane 2b of the recess 2a provided with the light-receiving portion 3a at the center of the upper surface thereof, a resin layer 7 which is arranged at substantially the whole periphery of the recess 2a formed on the upper principal plane, and a translucent cover 8 which is bonded to an upper portion of the resin layer 7 for sealing the optical semiconductor element 3. The device is further provided with an optical absorption member 9 whose porosity at an upper end surface thereof is from 10 to 50%, along the periphery of the optical semiconductor element 3 on the bottom plane 2b of the recess 2a, with its height less than the level of the upper surface of the optical semiconductor element 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
