PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize the functional expansion and system modification of a system using existing geographical data, and to further enable use of the latest current map data by making use of the existing data use system. SOLUTION: The modification of an existing geographical data base system is restricted only to file reception by updating positioned positional data not by directly transmitting it to a map data base but by once transmitting the positional data to a map data management system and transmitting a map data file after updating a map and, thereby the use of the latest map data is enabled in the existing geographical data base system the map data are periodically transmitted from the map data management system.
