SUNKEN KOTATSU (JAPANESE FOOT WARMER)

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sunken kotatsu capable of enhancing easiness in executing works for replacing the heater and reducing the cost required for the heater replacement. SOLUTION: The sides 1b are formed rising from the peripheral edges of the bottom surface 1a having a rectangular shape on the plan so that a fireplace box 1 is formed in a rectangular box shape left open to the upside. At the four inside corners of the bottom surface 1a of the fireplace box 1, the lower frame members 2 are arranged alongside the sides 1b of the fireplace box 1. On the bottom surface 1a of the box 1 the heater 5 for the bottom surface is installed in such a way as is fitted in the inner surrounding edges of the lower frame members 2.
