PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-based adhesive composition having a combination of high adhesive force and water resistance, and suitable as an industrial adhesive. SOLUTION: This water-based adhesive composition comprises an ethylene- vinyl acetate copolymer, an ethylene-based acid copolymer(preferably, the acid monomer content thereof is≥15 wt.%), an ethyleneimine derivative, and a crosslinking agent. Preferably, this composition comprises 0.5-20 pt(s).wt. of the crosslinking agent and 100 pts.wt. of a composition comprising 100 pts.wt. of the ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer,≥2 pts.wt. of the ethylene-based acid copolymer and≥2 pts.wt. of the ethyleneimine derivative.
