<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat pump type water heater capable of preventing hot water shortage and performing an economical operation by determining an optimum operating time for the use amount of hot water by users even if environmental conditions such as ambient temperature varies. <P>SOLUTION: This heat pump type water heater boils low temperature water by a heat pump heating source 2 and stores the boiled water in a hot water storage tank 3. The operating frequency of the compressor 25 of the heat pump heating source 2 is controlled based on the ambient temperature, the temperature of city water fed to the hot water storage tank 3, the temperature of the low temperature water, and the temperature of the hot water boiled by the heat pump heating source 2 so that a hot water heating capacity becomes generally constant. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
