PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress damping control against a micro vibration. SOLUTION: A damping assembly 11 is such an assembly that a dynamic vibration absorbing unit 13 set on the roof of a structure 12 is used to damp the vibration in the horizontal direction (X-direction) of the structure 12 by carrying out a damping action in accordance with a control signal from a control unit 14. The control unit 14 is used to set a control gain in a control system for driving additional mass 16 as zero when a counted value in the vibration state of the structure 12 is less than a predetermined value until a predetermined time lapses away after the control gain is changed from zero to a larger value. Thereby, the structure 12 is prevented from being excited by stopping the damping action by making the control gain zero when the vibration state of the structure 12 is more than a secondary vibration which is extremely small, and also the problem that an operating noise makes a human being feel uneasy if a motor 18 is driven for damping the small vibration of a degree which can not be bodily sensed can also be resolved.
