PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a focal-plane shutter for a digital still camera which has a front blade and a rear blade and is equipped with an electronic finder function and whose time lag from the release of a camera until the start of exposure actuation is shortened. SOLUTION: A 1st driving member for a front blade 4 and a 2nd driving member for a front blade 5 coupled with the front blade are coaxially attached, and a set spring is laid between both members 4 and 5. A rear blade driving member 6 couples the rear blade. A driving spring for exposure actuation is laid on the members 5 and 6. By engaging two parts to be engaged 7a and 7b of a restricting member 7 with the engaging part 8f of the hook part 8d of a set member 8 coaxially attached, the member 7 is temporarily actuated at the time of reciprocating actuation of the member 8, and restricts the member 4's following up the member 5 at the initial stage of the setting actuation of the member 8 and releases such restriction at the initial stage of the restoring actuation of the member 8.
