PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the warm-up time and the recovery time from an energy saving mode and a power saving mode, etc., and to attain an on-demand fixation, and also, to reduce the power consumption for fixation to the utmost, as for an image forming device employing an external thermal fixation system. SOLUTION: As for the image forming device equipped with a fixation device constituted of a fixing roller and an external heat roller for heating the fixing roller, the heating of the heat roller and rotary drive of each roller are simultaneously started when the power source of the image forming device is turned ON, and also, when the control of recovering from the power saving mode is performed.
