PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prolong the life of a liquid crystal panel by improving the thermal conductivity of a case to increase a heat radiation effect. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal panel 92 is housed in the case 91. A gap 98 between the side of an element substrate 92 of the liquid crystal panel 92 and the side 95 of dustproof glass 112, and the inner wall 86 of the case 91 is closely stuck to a heat transfer member 90 made of resin by removing air. The surface of the heat transfer member 90 is closely stuck to the surface of the case 91 and part of the dustproof glass 112 at its upper surface. Heat generated on the liquid crystal panel 92 and the dustproof glass 112 is effectively transferred through the heat transfer member 90 to the case 91 for radiation. Heat on the liquid crystal panel 92 or the like is transferred to the case 91 by the use of the resin having a coefficient of thermal conductivity higher than that of air. As a result, the superior heat radiation effect is observed to suppress thermal deterioration, prolonging the life of the liquid crystal panel. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
