PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display device with improved productivity. SOLUTION: A matrix array substrate 4 and a counter substrate 7 are placed opposite to each other and laminated with each other via a gap. Kerfs are formed in the longitudinal and vertical directions of strips and scribings are formed in the longitudinal direction of the strips on the matrix array substrate 4 side. Scribings are formed on the counter substrate 7 side in positions coinciding with the scribings on the matrix array substrate 4 side. Vertical cracks along the scribings are developed so as to divide the matrix array substrate 4 and the counter substrate 7 and to cut out the strips consisting of a plurality of aligned liquid crystal display devices 11. A liquid crystal is injected into parts surrounded by adhesive sealants 12 of the matrix array substrate 4 and the counter substrate 7 from injection ports 13 of the respective liquid crystal display devices 11 and is end-sealed. Kerfs are formed on the parts of the counter substrate 7 of the liquid crystal display devices 11 corresponding to the kerfs of the matrix array substrate 4 from the counter substrate 7 side.
