COMPOUND SUBSTRATE, METHOD FOR PRODUCING THEREFOR AND FLAT PANEL DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound substrate or the like which can achieve high position accuracy in the case of forming an element such as TFT while having flexibility and further can sufficiently deal with even the case of requiring translucency without damaging mass-productivity.

SOLUTION: A flat panel display (FPD) 100 is an LCD in which a liquid crystal layer 4 partitioned by a spacer member is provided between a compound substrate 10a having a barrier layer and a compound substrate 10b configured similarly thereto. The liquid crystal layer 4 is formed with an array of TFT 5 and color filters 3r, 3g and 3b are located at positions facing these TFT. Besides, in the compound substrate 10a, a base layer 1a composed of a transparent resin and a metal film 6a formed with the pattern of openings 7 are laminated in the direction of the plane and integrally formed. By such a metal film 6a, the shape changes not only of the base layer 1a but also of the compound substrate 10a are effectively suppressed even in the case of heat weighted impression.
