PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent static electricity from jumping into a scanning signal drive circuit or a video signal drive circuit. SOLUTION: The picture display device is provided with: each pixel forming a liquid crystal display part on the liquid crystal side surface of one of substrates arranged facing each other via a liquid crystal; a scanning signal drive circuit in which a pixel group consisting of each pixel arranged in parallel in one direction is formed with at least a common gate signal line and a common capacitance line, and with which at least one end of each signal line is connected; and wiring layer formed so as to surround this scanning signal drive circuit, and as for this wiring layer, that on the liquid crystal display part side is formed smaller in the line width to that on the opposite side of the liquid crystal display part, and also the capacitance line crosses the scanning signal drive circuit and is connected with the wiring layer on the opposite side of the liquid crystal display part.
