PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide coated paper for gravure process that has a low density, a high glossiness, high rigidity and shows high opacity and improved speckle. SOLUTION: The coated paper for gravure process is produced by forming coating layers including pigments and adhesive on the base paper. In this case, the coated layers comprise kaolin particles, as pigments, of which≥65 vol.% of particles have particle sizes of 0.4-4.2μm in an amount of≥50 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. of the pigments and in addition, coated layers which include calcined kaolin may be formed between coated layers.
