COVERED YARN AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a covered yarn capable of affording a thin stretchable fabric having a flat touch, a soft touch feeling and a refreshing touch unique to cotton and a woollen touch feeling and a method for producing the covered yarn. SOLUTION: This covered yarn comprises a core yarn and a sheath yarn and is obtained by using polyester conjugated fibers of the side-by-side type or the eccentric sheath-core type comprising one of constituent components consisting essentially of polyethylene terephthalate and the other constituent component consisting essentially of polytrimethylene terephthalate as the core yarn and cotton fibers as the sheath yarn.
