PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide staple fibers of polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) having thermal resistance, chemical resistance together with excellent mechanical strength, mechanical endurance and dimensional stability. SOLUTION: The staple fibers of PPS has tensile strength≥3.5 cN/dtex, 50-80% of tensile elongation,≤2% of dry heat shrinkage percentage at 160°C and≤1% of hot water shrinkage percentage.
