PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inorganic pigment containing neither harmful chromium nor lead, excellent in high temperature stability, comparatively economically producible and realizing a color having high chroma and beauty. SOLUTION: This inorganic pigment comprises a substrate particle having a wurtzite type structure and another wurtzite type compound existing on the surface of the substrate particle, wherein the wurtzite type compound has another different composition from the substrate particle.
