PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device or the like in which a document can be electronically signed on the site of scanning the document and the document can be electronically signed with high security. SOLUTION: The USB token 14 of a user is inserted into a USB connector 11 of an image forming device 10, the document is scanned and then converted to a document file by a scan data processing means 31 of a data processor 30 and a message digest is calculated by a message digest generating means 32. Afterwards, the sent message digest is encrypted by using a secret key obtained from the USB token 14 by an encrypting means 13 in the image forming device 10. Then this signed message digest is combined with the file made into a document in the data processor 30 to complete a signed file made into a document. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
