PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information signal processing apparatus or the like capable of adjusting the quality of an output in matching with the preference of a user. SOLUTION: A class code CL of a target pixel of an HD signal is obtained from pixel data extracted from an SD signal. A bank 135 stores coefficient type data of each class. The coefficient type data are updated on the basis of history information of image quality adjustment parameters s, z stored in a history information storage section 130 and entered by a user operation in the case of updating a version of e.g. a television receiver 100. A coefficient generating circuit 136 generates coefficient data of an estimate expression in each class on the basis of the coefficient type data of each class and values of parameters h, v, and stores the data to a memory 134. An arithmetic circuit 127 uses the estimate expression to calculate pixel data of a target pixel of the HD signal on the basis of data xi of a tap corresponding to the target pixel of the HD signal selectively extracted from the SD signal and coefficient data read by the class code CL from the memory 134 to calculate pixel data of the target pixel of the HD signal.
