PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stationary inductive electric apparatus capable of remarkably reducing updating cost by minimizing an updating section, shortening an operation time required for update and reducing an operation space, and a method of updating the apparatus. SOLUTION: After an updating winding 10 is newly manufactured in a factory, and the updating winding 10 is covered by a damp-proof/dust proof film, the winding 10 is housed in a tank for transportation to be transported to a site, and an existing winding 1 is replaced by the updating winding 10. At this point, the upper tank of an existing transformer is removed and the upper yoke 20 of the existing transformer iron core is disassembled, and the existing winding 1 is replaced by the updating winding 10.
