PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flange enabling a strain of the flange to be measured without mounting a strain gauge thereon by means of retrofitting. SOLUTION: A strain gauge 11 for detecting a strain of the flange 1 is provided within the flange 1. The flange 1 can be provided with a connection means 2 for connecting the gauge 11 with an external apparatus. Further, the flange 1 can be used for mounting a hydraulic cylinder 6 on a press 3. Based on a strain of the flange 1 detected by the gauge 11, output values of the cylinder 6 can be measured. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
