When no alarm information is input from an optical receiver (12), a FEC decoder (13), and a client signal monitor (14), a control circuit (15) uses error correction count information acquired from the FEC decoder (13) to control a variable disperse equalizer (11) so that the transmission error becomes smaller and fixes a disperse equalization value when an error decreases below a prescribed value. When alarm information is input, the control circuit switches the normal control of the variable disperse equalizer (11) to a search mode control for searching an optimum disperse equalization value over a wide range to search the optimum disperse equalization value at a higher speed.
|
