<p>A method and apparatus (130) for manufacturing a preform component (124, 125 or 128) for a golf club head (20) composed of a plurality of plies of pre-preg material is disclosed herein. The preform component is preferably a face component (125), a crown component (128) or a sole component (124), composed of a plurality of plies of pre-preg material. The apparatus (130) preferably has a plunger head (142) attached to a pneumatic cylinder (154) for compressing the plies of pre-preg sheets within a mold cavity (134) configured to define a preform component (124, 125 or 128).</p>
