The invention relates to a flat diaphragm which prevents the passage of water from the toilet tank to the toilet bowl and which is designed to eliminate water leakages from said tank. The inventive diaphragm essentially comprises two plastic parts which are interconnected. The first of said parts, which is rigid, is screwed to a counterweight, while the second part, which is flexible, expands in order to create a seal which prevents the passage of water at the discharge opening of the toilet tank. The aforementioned flexible part expands owing to the pressure from the water inside the toilet tank, said pressure being exerted through the openings disposed in the rigid part of the diaphragm.
