The towel or clothes rail has a base plate (10) with a post (20) to receive fasteners. The fasteners are formed by half sections of semi circular shape. The half sections define sleeves with external grooves for O-rings. Cross rods are rotatably mounted on the fasteners to support the clothes and are engaged by the O-rings.
