A sealing system for openings in walls, e.g. door and window openings, has a sealing plate shaped to fit over the outside of the opening with a set amount of overlap all round. The plate is secured by threaded fasteners applied either from the outside or from the inside. The edges of the plate can be tapered on the outside and are fitted with sealing means on the inside. The system secures an opening against floodwater and against vandalism and wilful damage.
