The invention relates to a method and device which are used to control and regulate oxygen flow and which are adapted to the physiological requirements of the patient. The invention involves the use of a standard cylinder of medical oxygen (10), an oxygen delivery unit (6), sensors (1, 2) and a central unit (4). The inventive method is characterised in that it consists in using algorithms corresponding to two control loops which are adapted: in the first case, to take account of detected motor activities in order to intervene immediately in relation to the oxygen flow, by anticipating the oxygen requirements of the patient; and, in the second case, to take account of the level of oxygen measured in the blood for the purpose of delayed intervention in relation to the oxygen flow. The device used to perform said method is characterised in that the detection of the patient's motor activities and the measuring of the oxygen level in the blood are carried out by means of specific sensors (1 and 2) which are positioned at well-determined points on the patient's body. |
