It is intended to provide insulin resistance improving agents which contain, as the active ingredient, the C-terminal side spherical region of adiponecti n C, adiponectin or genes thereof. It is also intended to provide remedies for type 2 diabetes which contain, as the active ingredient, the C-terminal side spherical region of adiponectin C, adiponectin or genes thereof. Thus, insul in resistance, which is induced by fat-rich diet and accompanied by obesity, ca n be improved and type 2 diabetes amounting the major part of diabetes can be treated.
