A container capable of releasing to the outside of a container body a fermentation gas or an expansion gas by microwave-oven heating without liquid leaking. The opening end of a container body 1 is provided with annular sealing surface portions 21, 22 and a support surface portion 23, with the support surface portion projecting slightly upward beyond the sealing surface portions. The peripheral edge of a lid, covering the opening end so as to form spaces 9, 10 on the inner and outer sides of the support surface portion, is in close contact with the support surface portion and sealingly attached to the sealing surface portion. Communication passages 6, 7 for allowing the interior or exterior of the container body to communicate with the spaces are formed at the sealing surface portions. A fluid passage formed by the communication passages and the spaces works as an interior shut-off passage for sealing against liquid and content in the container body at a close contact portion 8 between the support surface portion and the lid peripheral edge. It works as a series of fluid passages for passing the pressurized gas generated in the container body with the close contact portion forcibly separated.
