<p>An intraocular lens (30) has an optic and two fixation members (710). Each fixation member (710) has at least one connecting element (712) and a pincer element (714). The pincer element (714) has a side region (718) with a central portion (720) and opposed end portions (722). The pincer element (714) further has a pair of pincer arms (724) attached end-to-end from respective opposed end portions (722) of the side region (718). In one embodiment, the side region (718) has a first location disposed closer (760) to the optic (716) than the pincer gap (732) and a second side region (718) disposed further from the optic (716) than the pincer gap (732). The distance of both side regions (718) to the central-most portion (720) of the pincer gap (732) is substantially identical.</p> |
