The anchor system for a vehicle safety belt (4) comprises a bar (14) with a serrated edge which is mounted on the top edge (16) of the vehicle window. A stirrup (18), through which the belt passes, cooperates with the serrations, allowing it to be fitted at different heights. A stop prevents it from sliding off the bar. An Independent claim is included for a vehicle fitted with the system.
