THERMOELEMENT

A thermoelement in which the temperature of an encased wax can be raised entirely and efficiently and a reliable sealing structure can be attained at a part for taking out a conduction control terminal for a heating means. The thermoelement comprises a thermal expansion body (4) encased in tubular case s (2, 3) and advancing/retracting a working piston (7) to/from the outside of the case by variation of volume incident to temperature variation, and a heating element (12) disposed in the case and imparting thermal influence to the thermal expansion body. The heating element is substantially tubular and embedded in the thermal expansion body substantially in the center of the case. An electrode member (13) being connected with an external power supply through a terminal take-out part (5) provided at the end of the case on the side opposite to the piston is disposed on the inside of the heating element . Furthermore, a leaf spring member (14) also serving as fins for dissipating heat to the thermal expansion body is disposed between the heating element a nd the inner wall part of the case. The leaf spring member has a surface area larger than that of the heating element.
