A method for fitting a load supporting wooden beam to a dry construction wall has metal brackets fitted to the ends of the beam. The brackets are secured onto one face of the beam by self tapping screws. The other ends of the brackets are positioned over the ends of the beam and are secured to the profiled upright supports of the wall via self tapping screws. The beams and wall structure can be covered with normal plasterboard.
