The PC has a processor connected to a first bus (47), a an external telephone line interface, connection circuits (15,21,23) for selective connection of telephone, fax, call answering and splitter terminals, a second bus (19) connected to the first interface and connection circuits and a first bus controller (25) for controlling signal exchanges between buses. The processor and first bus are formed by components usually present in a conventional PC Independent claims are also included for the following: a telecommunications system and a telecommunications plug-in card.
