The system for producing protective corners for packages before strapping comprises a continuous conveyor (3) which feeds a profile (2) to a stepwise conveyor (4). A length meter (6) feeds the desired length on to this and a saw (8) cuts it to size, after which it is removed by a suction device (70) and fed to the desired position with respect to the package by a system of vertical and horizontal conveyors (14 - 17, 80 -83, 88, 89).
