The invention relates to an underwater diving system comprising a tank of breathing gas (12) which remains on the surface of the water. The inventive system is characterised in that: the breathing gas tank (12) is flexible and is integrated into a bag (16); the tank (12) is fully contained in the aforementioned bag (16) when it is empty; and the tank is partially deployed outside said bag when it is filled with breathing gas.
