The toothed wedge belt (1) comprises a thermoplastic elastomer, with a trapezoidal cross section (2), comprising a fabric layer (10) of warp and weft threads (11, 12) which support tensile load carrying cords (5). The weft threads extend beyond the ends of the warp threads, and are bent so that they lay approximately against the end cords (6).
