The kitchen sink (1) with a work plate has an outlet aperture (1a) in its base, an overflow aperture (1b), a laterally movable work plate and an all-round edge (1e). Within the sink edge is a waste material discharge aperture (1h), the edge of which is higher than the outlet aperture and the overflow aperture, but lower than the level of the sink edge. The edge of the waste material discharge aperture is horizontal and arranged in a base part surfacec (1f) of the sink.
