The lock comprises a base part securable to the door or window (1), a bolt which can be moved between locking and release positions and a cover part (13) securable to the base part. At least one fastener device is provided on the opposing front and rear sides of the base part in order to secure it to the door or window. The front and rear sides of the base part are also provided with at least one holder for the bolt in the locking position.
