<p>A mixture of (a) spray- or freeze-dried culture of lactic bacilli lysed in their culture medium, and (b) a fungal enzyme complex having amylolytic and cellulolytic properties, is useful for the prevention and cure of enteric disorders. Specif., the bacilli are Lactobacillus acidophilus or bulgaricus Bacillus acidiparalacti, or Streptococcus A. lactic or thermophilus. They are grown separately in nutrient media, the cultures are atomised or lyophilised, and mixed with Takadiastase (a multi enzyme from Aspergillus oryzae) and fungal cellulase. The mixture is made up into pharmaceutically acceptable forms, which may contain other active cpds., such as antibiotics, vitamins, antispasmodics, antiseptics, or lysozyme.</p> |
